As you can see, some bank branches are open on Saturdays and Sundays.  On their websites you can find more information.

ATMs

Just like banks, it is easy to find one, with the exception being in very small towns.
Before traveling, we recommend that you verify with your bank what your daily withdrawal limit is.
It is also important to ask how much the surcharge is for a withdrawal.  Generally surcharges are not much, and it is worth it to get your money through an ATM instead of paying the commission at an exchange house.
You will find ATMs not only at bank branches, but also in airports, shopping malls, movie theaters, bus stations, supermarkets, etc.
Unlike other countries, some ATMs in Mexico will first give you your cash and then your card.  Keep that in mind so you do not forget your card.
The majority of ATMs’ menus are in Spanish and in reality there are very few that have language options.

Credit Cards

Mastercard, Visa and American Express are the most widely accepted cards.  You can easily use them.

Diners Club is less common, although if you have one of these cards, it never hurts to ask if it is accepted.

The vast majority of credit cards have, on the back side, telephone numbers for assistance and there is always a toll free number to call if the card is lost or stolen.  We suggest you write this number down in two different places where you can quickly find it in case of an emergency.
